Health Reform and Payment Reform: Opportunities and Challenges for Systemic Change
The Patient-Centered Medical Home is the redesign of primary care. As with any large scale health reform effort, there remain multiple complexities in implementation. Central to the success of any healthcare redesign is the reform of the payment system. The opening plenary session for CFHA combines the two worlds of system redesign and payment reform with two equally outstanding national leaders. Dr. Paul Grundy is leader of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative, a non-profit group who advocates for the successful uptake of the patient-centered medical home. Mr. David Jones Jr. is the Chairman of the Board for Humana, and is intimately familiar with the challenges of paying for healthcare services. Together, the two will engage in a discourse around health reform, payment reform and the challenges of large scale systemic change.
