POSITION POSTED: We have posted a full-time clinical position for a therapist to see patients in our outpatient therapy clinic and in a partially integrated family medicine center. This is a split position between the two centers. The outpatient facility has a strong reputation in the community and the family medicine clinic is looking to integrate a therapist on-site. We currently have 3 clinicians embedded in family practices. We are looking for an applicant that is independently licensed and has 3 years of experience or insurance paneled. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, experience working in medical settings and a broad range of clinical skills to see children through adults. Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor
UCSD Division of Family Medicine (http://famprevmed.ucsd.edu/) is seeking a PhD level Marriage and Family Therapist or Family Psychologist to direct its Behavioral Science Education Program and Collaborative Care Clinical Services. Applicants must have sufficient clinical experience/expertise in primary care settings in a truly integrated, family-oriented practice model to serve as a collaborative colleague to FM faculty and residents and as a role-model for MFT and psychology students and interns. Applicants must have experience/expertise in providing supervisory clinical oversight to MFT Masters level students/interns and psychology doctoral students. Administrative responsibilities include coordination of all aspects of the Collaborative Care Team's functioning, all aspects of mental health trainees' education and clinical performance within the Division of Family Medicine and substantial contribution to the behavioral science education of the residents of the UCSD Core Family Medicine training program.
Liaison activities with other UCSD departments hosting USD MFT training efforts (Psychiatry, Pediatrics and Reproductive Medicine), the Division's Combined FM and Psychiatry Residency, and the SD County Mental Health Department are also an important job component. Active participation with the Division's research efforts in collaborative care and mental health in primary care is expected and evidence of scholarly productivity is desirable. Finally, teaching 2 courses per year in the Marital and Family Therapy program at the University of San Diego, an independent, Catholic university, is both possible and preferred. Requirements: Licensed/License-eligible as a MFT or Psychologist in the State of California; AAMFT Approved Supervisor or eligibility to become an Approved Supervisor.
